Principal’s Message

Welcome to The Grove! My name is Deborah Shizgal and I am happy to be starting my second year as principal of Maple Grove. I have learned that Maple Grove offers students, staff, and parents a community within which everyone plays an important role towards the growth of our students. Maple Grove is a safe place where students can thrive, play, and grow while learning two languages, math, science, social studies, and more. Our specialties include Phys. Ed, music, art, and drama.  Our kind and loving staff excel at building positive relationships with their students and are aware of the social/emotional learning that takes place. Our concern is for the whole child; their emotional, academic, and behavioural well-being. We know through the literature and research that students learn more effectively in a safe, stable and secure environment. We take the mental health of our students as a priority as we know mental health plays a determining factor in the health of children and their ability to learn.
